High-quality fasteners are an important part of any mechanical design. To produce them, a sorting and inspection system is required to remove all defective parts and separate different types of fasteners. Erman said: “It takes a lot of manpower and material resources to distinguish large quantities of products such as fasteners. When different defects are detected at the same time, it is easy to miss detection.” Firmware parameters, including thread, outer diameter, root diameter, pitch and helix angle, shank diameter, length, groove width and position, and cutter head height and diameter. “Normally,” Erman said, “these parts must be inspected at a rate of 1200 parts per minute.”
According to Erman, the parts to be inspected were delivered from the vibrating plate provided by Shenzhen Sipotek Technology Co., Ltd. On the roller system, parts with head sizes that meet the specified values will enter the vibration track. As each part moves along the vibration orbit, it accelerates towards the visual inspection platform and is illuminated by the Led light on the visual platform (see figure).
When inspecting each part, the inspection system will determine its thread, diameter, pitch, length and head height. If the part fails the inspection, the pneumatic system controlled by the machine vision controller blows it into the defective parts bin.
In order to ensure the integrity, after leaving the direct vibration guide rail, each fastener is monitored by two SONY industrial inspection cameras for its trajectory. When each part passes through the light sensor, two cameras will be triggered at the same time to take a picture of the part.
In order to analyze the two images, the camera needs to be connected to the vision system. The user sets parameters including thread, diameter, pitch, length and cutter head height, and the camera takes images and transmits them to the vision inspection system for analysis and processing. With the help of 30 measurement tools and gray-scale image processing functions, the vision inspection system will activate the pneumatic valve after checking each image and determine the pass / fail, and automatically reject the defective parts.
